Saleema Adu Smith was educated at BA (Hons) level in European History at the University of Durham and Sciences Po Aix, Université d'Aix-Marseille. She then studied on the Global History MA programme at Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. You can read more about some of her research interests here.
She also holds an MA in Public Relations from the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. She is fluent in English, Akan (Twi), French, German and conversational Japanese.
After an international career in publishing, public relations and event production spanning Tokyo, Vienna, London, Paris and Berlin she turned her focus to her passion for history and literature. She now works as a novelist of contemporary and historical fiction for young adults whilst hosting non-fiction and literary fiction events in person and online.
Born and raised in London, Saleema has lived in Northern England, Southern France, Tokyo, and Vienna. She now lives very happily in Berlin.
